Happy Birthday, Zach!

Since Zach was gone most of his birthday (March 3rd), that morning we served him his favorite breakfast food - BACON!!

After all-day school and evening basketball practice, only then could we PPAARRTTYY!!

Zach's birthday meal was Greek food from the Delphi restaurant! He and John ordered the Lukullus meal (1 lamb shish kabob, 2 lamb chops, gyros meat, 1 steak, saziki, salad, and rice noodles). I (Becky) ordered the Hermes meal (2 tender/lean meat shish kabobs, 1 steak, saziki, salad and rice).

We complemented the meal with Greek olives, feta cheese, and some special mushrooms.

Zach's in sport clothes, because he just came from practice.

The present of a digital camera from Steffi and Dietmar and from us!

And some favorite candy!

The Schurrs and Kolsters have begun "home improvements" in the church rooms - started with some painting (walls a cream color) and new curtains. Thought you might like to follow the progress.

Plants and Patchwork

Just wanted to show that my attention to my orchid plants has indeed produced results.

Even more blooms have opened since this picture. This plant has special meaning for us - Dietmar Gross gave it to us the first time he came to visit us.

The blossom looks like it has eyes and a gentle dragon-like face (or alien type features)!

I'm thankful for a few hours to work on my quilt.

I finished one quarter of the quilt before Christmas. And today I completed the last quarter.

Secluded in my own little world downstairs, just sewing and following the Today Show, Meet the Press, and other current events.

The four quarters positioned, waiting to be sewn together.

The quilt has several borders to be added, so it's still very much in progress.

GO Team Continued

Almost everyday the Grace students were in English classes

The team stopped by the bakery where a young woman in our church works

Following up on a recommendation from one of our church members, John took the team to GummiBearLand here in Aalen. I guess it's been here for 11 years, but this was our first contact!
