Fall Happenings

Making the most of free moments in my sewing room

If you can see the face on the computer and are "Lord of the Rings" savvy, you recognize Aragorn on the screen. One of my favorite films to have playing in the background.

This is my Tom Turkey project! (remember this, Erika?)

decisions, decisions

Zach's first time doing church music (at the piano) since we've been back!

Going to visit Steffi and Dietmar in Ditzingen

Beware the Greeks, bearing gifts!

This was a much smaller plant when we gave it to Steffi and Dietmar as a house-warming present in Gaildorf. Steffi has a "green thumb"!

The flowering pink Christmas cactus in the middle on the window sill is the Ditzingen house-warming plant. Hopefully it will flourish well!

Unfortunately we have no photos of Steffi!!! But we do have some of her very unique and classy dromedary!

Scenes from the 25th anniversary weekend

Working hard, or hardly working???

The youth performed a skit!

Some things never change (and shouldn't) - Edna knitting!

Saturday night

Zach with the Speidel boys from Stuttgart

Wow!! Who's that good-looking couple??

Time to say good-bye to Edna

The Liebig-street landmark!! Our infamous tree in all its glory!!

Our infamous house entrance - we do try to uphold the neighborhood honor, but just can't keep up with the professional gardeners around us.

The final leaves fall. After much leaf processing, we are happy for this moment.

Basketball Sunday

Sunday was basketball day! Here's Zach the referee for the U14 team.

Getting ready to play against the International Stuttgart School.

This must be some "psych-up" tactic. It almost looks like the despair of defeat, but this was before the game started!

Happy again!

Motivational moment!

No. 13 is Zach's friend Julian - this was Julian's first game, and he even made a basket!

Will Zach's shot go in?? Yes, and he gets a free throw after being fouled.

Focus!!! and swish!!

Zach passes to Andi.

Unfortunately, we couldn't stop Stuttgart's No. 11, who made 52 points. Two others made 13 points each. Zach was the "high" scorer for our team with 11 points.

Pursuit of a hobby

Finally - made it to the Fabric Shack in Waynesville, Ohio!! Just happened to be on the route from Columbus to Cincinnati.

John took one look at the bus full of fabric shoppers, and decided he'd go work on his class paper at McDonald's, while I joined the quilting crowd.

I always seem to gravitate to these colors!

I also love Christmas fabric!

A store in Lancaster Co., PA, recommended by Joy Sims.

Decisions, decisions!

I can't resist autumn hues!

Another Lancaster Co. recommendation from Joy.

Photo from the Glass Thimble in Columbus, taken without my knowledge. Zach found my camera in my purse and played paparazzi.

What would I do without Susan?

One unhappy camper at the fabric store! Effects of Lyme disease??

Putting together the first IKEA table for my sewing center

Tah, dah!!

The second IKEA table

Good work!

Sewing area in our downstairs (where all the girls had their rooms)

Ready to begin!!
