A non-functioning refrigerator that has been standing in our basement storage room for many years - doomed for the large trash pick-up
Our faithful, but no longer functioning washer, to share the same fate as the old refrigerator. Zachary - working hard, OR
hardly working?!?
For this effort, both men were definitely working hard!! The washer was very heavy!
Waiting for the early pick-up of large, electric "trash"
The Cookie Corner before the transformation
Assembling the IKEA shelves
Shelves where the refrigerator used to be and in the Cookie Corner
Lots of storage space for fabric
Efficiently re-organized storage room
Two old, but served-us-well desks, ready for the general large trash collection
When we need the downstairs for guests, the sewing tables fit into Helen's former room.
The working men back in action!
Waiting for transport and demolition
Now, the assembling of our IKEA sofa-bed
When we aren't hosting overnight guests, the sofa bed will look like this, and my sewing studio will occupy this room.
Here's where Max and Henry will sleep (minus my sewing stuff).
The book corner
Here's the suite for Steffi and Dietmar this weekend; soon for the Varners
A look over toward Erika's former "room"
This is the sofa bed, prepared for guests.
Lest Helen fear she has no room in the inn, the guest room upstairs is ready and prepared for you!

Wow! You've been hard at work. All the changes look great! I couldn't help but notice that you still have a few unprocessed walnuts in the "Abstellraum." You'd better hide those from Freya...=)
Yeah! I totally noticed the nuts. We are looking forward to 'processing' them.
You threw away my old desk (shock)!!!
Love the updates on your blog. I did have one question on the previous entry, why is Zach signaling touchdown?
